InsuranceMonster partner program

Your residents get covered. You get paid. We do the work.

Put one QR code in your leasing office, your lobby or your welcome packet. A resident scans it, picks a plan and is insured in about three minutes - with you listed on the policy. You see every quote and policy in your own portal, and every statement before it is paid.

Built for property managers first

Most leases in California now require renters insurance. Chasing certificates is nobody's favorite job. This is the version where the resident does it themselves and you just see the result.

One QR code, everywhere

A code that is yours alone. On a standee, a flyer, a move-in email or a text. Every scan is credited to you for 90 days, so a resident who thinks about it for a week still counts.

You are on the policy

A resident who arrives through your code has your company prefilled as the interested party. The carrier sends you the notices. No certificate to request, no form to chase.

See it all in your portal

Every quote your code produced, which ones bound, and the policies at your buildings with their status and liability limit. Lapsed and cancelled show up too - that is the point.

Paid on a statement, not a promise

Your portal shows what you have earned, what is on a statement, and what has been paid - line by line. You see the statement before we pay it, and you can question any line.

Your whole team

Add your leasing staff and your regional managers. Each person signs in with their own work email. No shared password, because there is no password.

A licensed California brokerage

InsuranceMonster is Monster Insurance Services, LLC, CA DOI license 6020398. Real coverage from admitted carriers, placed by a licensed broker, with a human on the phone when a resident needs one.

What the resident sees

Three plans - Good, Better, Best - priced side by side before we ask for a single personal detail. They pick one, enter their details, pay the first month and they are covered. Monthly billing, cancel any time, documents in their own portal.

  • Scan

Your code opens our renters quote with your company already listed as the interested party.

  • Pick a plan

Good, Better and Best, with the liability limit your lease requires in plain sight.

  • Pay and done

First month by card, policy issued on the spot, and you get an email that says your resident is covered.

Two ways to be paid. Which one is a matter of license, not preference.

California law decides how a referrer can be compensated. We built the program around that line rather than near it.

Not licensed to sell insurance

Property managers, landlords, apartment communities, gyms, venues, employers - almost everyone.

  • A flat referral fee for every completed quote that comes through your code.
  • Paid whether or not the resident buys, and the same amount whatever they buy. It never depends on a sale, a premium or a product - that is what keeps it on the right side of the rules for you.
  • One fee per real person: the same resident quoting twice in a month counts once, and your own test scans never count.

The fee per product is set when your application is approved and shown in your portal. It is a marketing fee for a qualified lead, not a commission.

Licensed producer

Agents and brokers who hold a California insurance license and want a renters, pet or auto market they do not have.

  • A commission on every policy that binds through your code, as a percentage of term premium or a set amount per policy.
  • You keep your relationship; we carry the market, the billing and the servicing.
  • Statements show the policy number and the premium the commission was earned on.

You will be asked for your license number when you apply. We verify it before the first statement.

Questions we get asked

What does it cost us?

Nothing. There is no fee to join, no minimum, and the standee and flyers are files you print or we print for you. You are paid, not charged.

What can we see about our residents?

A property manager account sees the resident's name, unit address, policy number, status, start and end dates and the liability limit - for policies where you are the listed interested party. You never see premium, payment details or anything else. A venue or other referrer sees counts and money only.

Can we require residents to use you?

No, and you should not. A resident can bring any policy that meets the lease. Our code is the easy path, not the only one. We also list you as interested party on any policy a resident buys from us through your code, so you still get the notices.

Which products?

Renters insurance today, with Good, Better and Best plans. Pet, auto and home are in the works and will appear on the same code when they are live - your dashboard will say so.

How and when are we paid?

We prepare a statement from your ledger, you see it in the portal, and we pay it by check or electronic transfer. Each line on the statement is a lead or a policy you can look up.
